Removing Tamiya Spray Paint

True enough. Should have paid more attention to the thread title. Didn't see 'spray' in there..just Tamiya and Paint which made me think of their common acrylic.

Depends on how long the paint has been on there. If not that long alcohol will work. However, best luck I have had wit taking off arylic paint is with Windex window cleaner or Simple Green.

That will work for the bottled acrylic paints, but Tamiya's spray cans are lacquers, not acrylics.

You can find Simple Green at Home Depote and some grocery stores, it works better than Windex in taking off paint that has dried. Both are much better than alcohol.

Another product to try is Kudd Cutter. Found at Home Depote. Picked some up when they were out of Simple Green one time. Was told it was the same thing. Its not...its better. Cuts through any type of paint you might want to get ride of and won't burn harm you or the underlining part. Though I haven't tried it on plastic yet, only metal. However, I don't think it will hurt plastic either. It also makes a pretty good all around cleaner to.

You can find it at an auto supply store.  this is what it looks like.  I cant speak for others but the plastic was fine after I used it.  I let it sit in a bucket for almost two full days.

Can't give you first hand advice but I've seen a lot of people recommend 91% alcohol for Tamiya sprays. It's pretty cheap to try. Around here, a gallon of SuperClean is $7 or so. I like SuperClean and have used it for a long time but there have been a few paints it wouldn't touch. Like some DupliColor paints. Alcohol worked for them.

Okay okay, cool beans! Now, will either of the products have an adverse affect on the plastic model itself? And when you guys are reffering to superclean, are you talking about the oven cleaner/degreaser stuff? I was hunting around today and found quite a few different products called superclean haha, and if it is the degreaser, where would I find it? I would assume a hardware store. Now for the alcohol, does it take longer or less time to strip the paint and is it something readily available at a grocery store?

EDIT: Also, will either of the products remove the Testors spray enamel gray primer?
