Ok, I was out and happen to go to the hardware store, but didn't to think to bring the filter and hose with. lol Anyway, I looked at 1/2" M to 3/8" F reducers but I need to know what the tread size is as you've all stated above. Does anyone know? Or should I just take the parts in to ACE?

The norm for compressor & airbrush hoses (with a very few exceptions, generally at the airbrush end) is BSP - NPT is a taper thread?

Here are the O/D's & I/D's for the common BSP sizes;

1/8"  I/D 8.8mm, O/D 9.4mm.

1/4"  I/D 11.8mm, O/D 13.0mm

3/8"  I/D 15.2mm, O/D 16.4mm

1/2"  I/D  BIG        , O/D 20.7mm

BSP threads are commonly refereed to by their fractional size preceded by the letter G.

If you measure the respective I/D's & O/D's you should be able to figure out what you have & what you need.

The airhose fits the airbrush just fine actually. I have no reason to believe that it's not the correct hose. It does not connect to the compressor though. The sizes at the compressor end are different. Would I just need a reducer to go from the compressor to the airhose?

Take your airbrush hose and your compressor hose to a hardware store and ask them to find you an adaptor.

The connector sizes mentioned in your earlier post must be incorrect because they are not those for Paasche or typical compressor. Good luck.

It's a Paasche VL model The airbrush was used, but well cared for. Everything was in the box. The supplied air hose has 1/4" female (at the airbrush end) to 1/2" female.

This airhose will not fit the Paasche VL nor any airbrush that I know of.

The filter end of the compressor is 3/8" M.

3/8" are used for heavier duty airtools. You need an adaptor to reduce it to 1/4" male at the compressor for the aribrush hose. Then, get one of this Paasche hose at the length you want. Good luck.

Well, that gives me a little more info, but I'm still lost here. But hey, that's why I posted a topic! :) Ask and learn!

Here's what I can tell you about the airbrush I have;

It's a Paasche VL model The airbrush was used, but well cared for. Everything was in the box. The supplied air hose has 1/4" female (at the airbrush end) to 1/2" female. The filter end of the compressor is 3/8" M.

Oh, the NPT adaptor I bought is a brass hex 1/2" M to 3/8" M, not 1/8" M to1/4" M. Oops sorry.

The compressor I bought damaged box. It came with everything but a brass NPT 1/8" male to 3/8" male adaptor that was missing from the box.

So maybe I need a 1/2" M to 3/8" F adaptor? Do you think this sounds right? If Paasche uses different size threading, can you point me in the right direction to order a correct part?

I have a Paasche airbrush and one of those smaller oiless air compressors. It has a regulator/filter with pressure gauge. It was supposed to come with a 1/8" male to 1/4" male adaptor so I picked up on from the local hardware store. And of course the darn thing doesn't fit... Does anyone know what I need to get this going? The compressor runs great when plugging it, but it was missing this adaptor. I thought 1/8" male to 1/4" male was all the same but this thing doesn't fit.

You need to be more specific about what air hose do you have and what connector the compressor regulator has.

The 1/8" male to 1/4" male air hose is pretty much an industrial standard that connects most airbrushes except Paasche and Badger, both of which use proprietary size thread on their airbrushes.

If you get an 1/8" male to 1/4" male air hose, you need this adaptor to connect the 1/8" end to your Paasche.

If you get a Paasche to 1/8" air hose, you need the 1/8"M to 1/4"F in most cases for the compressor end.

The adaptor is cheap, but the shipping may not be. Go to the LHS where you bought your Paasche airbrush and see if they can order the adaptor for you at their cost.

If you do not have an air hose yet, just order one of the Paasche hose with the 1/4" connector at the compressor end. This may be the cheapest route.

If you have a Hobby Lobby Store nearby, you may find what you need there. They stock Paasche parts.
