Don't know if you feel like backtracking at this stage, but maybe on your next project try this.

Fill and sand SOP. Give the filler a top coat of superglue as a sealer. If it looks like the filler  "soaked up" the superglue, give it  another light coat.

Lightly sand, feather and  polish the filler/superglue into the plastic.

I've had good luck with this method, with the filler areas being indistinguishable from the plastic under the primer, regardless of the type or color of the filler.

I'm having some trouble with the white finish for my Revell A319. I'm using Tamiya White Fine Surface primer over the plastic and the bondo primer for some of the seams, but I'm having trouble covering the red surface (especially all the windows I filled). I don't recall this problem in the past, but it's been some time since I've built an airliner. Should I just keep on with the Tamiya coats (remembering that Tamiya primer is getting rare) or use another finish?
