XF-3:2 + XF-5:1?
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, January 24, 2004 7:08 PM
I just bought a Mustang; F-51D that is. I can handle mixing paints to get another color, but this looks like something more complicated.

The instructions give no idea of what this combination is.

Could someone explain this combination?

This is part of the famous Tamiya painting guide for using Tamiya paints. XF-3 is flat yellow and XF-5 is flat green. Tamiya is telling you to mix 2 parts yellow with 1 part green to get a color most manufaturers sell already mixed as "interior green". Buy a bottle of ModelMaster Interior Green and avoid the hassle.
