Hi Bill
Not sure what your painting exactly, but if you need a brush that has a fine point and keeps it. Loads and unloads just the right amount of paint with good flow and has a good springback in the tuft.............then you might want to look at "Kolinsky Sable" brushes made by several different companys.
These brushes are "Watercolor "brushes which by definition means they have short handles vs. oil/acrylic brushes with very long handles for use at the easel.
They just excel at holding a tight point when used with acrylics. I have even used oils and enamels with good results. Mind you, the maker of the brush would tell you they are designed for watercolors only!!
If you keep them super clean and well cared for it should not be a problem, as I have used mine for more than 3 years and the points are just as tight as when they were new.
My favorite size s are #1 and #0. Price $10-$15 each. You can build a set slowly. A set for me is only 4 brushes.
I can still paint extremely fine detail with a larger brush, smaller brushes do not always load as well.
Just google" Kolinsky sable" or go to Dakota art brushes, Cheap joes, *** Blick just to name a few.
Good luck
