Lifecolor about face...
Posted by DoogsATX on Monday, June 27, 2011 3:43 PM

So this is weird.

Last year, I gave Lifecolor paints a try. They airbrushed like sloppy water, I couldn't find a comfortable middle ground between sloppy water and airbrush-clogging nightmare. Tried distilled water, Lifecolor's thinner, Future, and Testors acrylic thinnner stuff. All to no avail.

A few nights ago, I tried the same paint (same bottle in fact) through my Harder & Steenbeck Evolution. Sprayed just fine. No sloppy water, No clogging (well, no more than usual with an acrylic).

Literally, the only difference between the two trials is the airbrush. First time, Iwata HP-C Plus (tried again when I put a .5mm needle in my HP-CS with the same disappointing results, only amplified by the broader spray pattern). This time, the H&S.

Anybody have any idea why one airbrush brand would spray this stuff so poorly, and the other so well?
