I really don't know but had the same thing happen to me. I'd had both bottles for a while and in the past both had produced a nice, bright, polished finish. Hadn't used either for a while and this spring I was spraying a P-38, finished one bottle and switched to the other and the second bottle gave a dull, darker gray finish. Same day, same brush, same pressure, same basecoat and it all went wrong.

Oh well, turned out I still had a few scratches to get rid of anyway...

I'm no expert on Alclad, but differing pressure & distance can give variations to the finish & applying it too heavily will also dull the finish.

Alclad problem

I've been using Alclad II polished aluminum on my 1/48  B-17. I painted the wings and ran out of paint. They came out like I expected...polished looking. Once I bought another round of A2 I sprayed the fuselage section and it came out a dull looking finish. It had the same glossy primer as the wings so what gives? Any advice on what I may have done wrong etc.? Thanks
