Hi Arnie,try to cut Future with Tamiya thinner X20 at about 50%.Then check very well the duse of your AB sould be partially clogged or broken.With diluite Future apply several layers.....Enrico.

It sounds like you are trying to spray one panel at a time, but i don't get why. I just spray Future staright. I just spray on a coat all over in one go, without stopping my movement then leave it to dry, and if needed, give it a second coat.

I'm with you, Arnie.  I can't spray Future worth a darn either.  But, it goes on so nice and smooth with a soft flat brush, that I don't see any need to.

Sounds like you aren't overlapping your passes enough. When I thin Future I use water. Distilled water 'cause the water here is very hard. I've tried thinning with alcohol and such but it always makes it cloudy, water doesn't. Yeh, Future is already pretty thin but, for me at least, adding a little water makes it easier to control. There seems to be a fine line between just right and too much.

Thanks all!  Looks like I've got some experimenting to do.  I'll try all suggestions.

Multiple layers shouldn't cause orange peel. There may be something else creating the orange peel.

That being said, gloss painting is a more difficult task that for flats. I consider gloss painting an exercise in brinkmanship.  You get best gloss just an instant before paint runs.  How do you know paint is just about to run?  Experience and good lighting.  Sometimes you are best off actually seeing a reflection of a light in the surface you are painting.

Different paints look different just before they run, so you need to practice- get experience- with each type of paint you use.  So practice getting that really wet coat of future on a scrap painted with the paint you will be using.
