Hey guys. I've two airbrushes, one is from Harbor Freight (Central pneumatic), and one from E-bay (God only knows). The o-rings are shot or gone. I've over tightened or total tear-down after each use might be a bit much? Is there a rule of thumb or are the brushes super picky about the right ring. Thanks lots Bud. PS. what is a tag on these post?
One of the problems with the Chinese made airbrushes (and the Harbor Freight is Chinese made) is that the O-rings tend to self destruct after a while, and it can be hard to get replacements. My Master G-22 could use a new nozzle O-ring, but it would cost me about $13 when you figure in shipping and the other parts I would have to buy with it. It's stocked as part of a kit. Harbor Freight would probably ship you a spare, but shipping will run about $6 and you can get a whole new airbrush for $15 when they are on sale.
You might find something that works at your local auto parts store if you're lucky. Often, you can do without the O-ring if you coat the threads with something like bees wax or Chapstick. That's something you might try.

Thanks Don. Those are good points and I will try them out. At 16 year retirement from Col. Oh. Fire Dept. even a $50 AB is a little out of the budget considering the models are $20 - $200 and climbing! Thanks again.

I can appreciate that. I am retired too. Try the Chapstick or other lip balm. If it sprays OK, don't worry about the O-rings.
Thanks Don. I'll give it a try. I miked the ABs and trying to find anything close ether standard or metric can leave you talking to the mirror. The mirror is right most of the time. Thanks Bud.
