Coldiron,

I have numerous Humbrol and have always had issues with the container and how the paint settles and how hard they are to mix. The only humbrol I buy these days is the flat white. I reckon it is the best flat white on the market, sprays and covers beautifully.

I think Humbrol should re-evaluate their containers, look to a different type. I know the tin is synonymous with Humbrol, but if they want to stay viable they need to change. I would probably buy some.

Cheers -Leo

I use Humbrol for my detail and brush painting and really like it.

All my Humbrol has been bought in the last 3-4 years and I've had no complaints.  I haven't bought white though, so i'm not familiar with the yellowing.  I have an old jar of Model Master white which, when left, settles out of suspension and the carrier base definitely has a yellow tinge. When you mix it up again though, it's nice and white.

I'm intrigued now as to how good Humbrol must have been back in the day.

Hi,in my opinion the new Humbrol aren't good like the old..........I have same colour from 1980-82  and they are still good.......while the new ones once you opened dry too fast in their tiny expecially white and black.......the white after few months became yellowish.................My opinion......Enrico.

P.S.I prefer Model master,Xtracolor..............

The title says it all.  I did some searches here recently and a couple years ago on the outsourcing of Humbrol enamels to China and some associated problems resulting from that decision.  I was wondering if anyone here has recently purchased humbrol enamel and what their opinion of it was and if they had any problems with it.  The reason I ask is that all my humbrol is older pre-2002 paint and I liked the brand then and I was wondering if its still a good buy or not.
