Hi there

  Im getting ready to paint  the bottom of my 1/150 Academy Cutty Sark  and I want to paint it the correct color which is Mintz metal does anyone know how to get that color I know it's a mix of copper and zinc  and I can get the copper color paint  but Im lost on the zinc color is their a  mintz metal color paint color out there or close to it,and if not how can I make that color zinc to mix with the copper any suggestions would be most appreciated-thank you

Never heard of Mintz metal.  I believe the bottom of the CS was just copper plate.  I'd just use coppere for paint, or else use the self-adhesive copper plates available from model ship suppliers.  Some people use a green patina over copper, but that patina didn't develop unless hull was out of water.  Patina when hull was under water was a dark brown similar to bronze.

Yes Mintz  metal is the offical  color of  the  bottom of  Cutty Sark I got the information from  the Cutty Sark website and  the modelmadness website
