Got the gretax ad29, and it is perfect.  Now I have no leaks, and a quick disconnect to boot!

I found the AD-29 on Amazon for $6.60 including shipping, so not too bad as most sellers wanted $6-8 for shipping alone.

I appreciate the help.  The Q.D. will be a very nice addition.

No, it is the wrong one. He needs the Grex AD-29 for Paasche.

Usually, the QD plug is cheap, but shipping will be more than the item. Search Ebay or Amazon for free shipping seller. I once got one from an auction by Brookhurst Hobbies with a $0.95 shipping. Went to their store web site and the shipping was $8.

The 1/4 to 1/8 adapter I picked up at the local hardware store, but, it leaks. It does not screw in far enough to make a contact with the seal. It will hold air, until the hose gets pushed in to its own fitting. For some reason, the adapter works fine on the 1/4 inch end of the Paasche hose.

The ideal solution would be a quick disconnect to go from whatever the thread is on the Paasche airbrush, to the blue hose. You can see, the compressor came with the female end of a Q.D.

Is there an ideal solution?

The adapter you got from the hardware store has NPT thread which is used in the US only. The airhose that comes with you airbrush compressor is 99% a BSP thread which is the international standard used in the rest of the world. The NPT and BSP are close enough that you can get them to work together with some pipe sealant in some cases. As you have noticed, on the 1/8" end, it does not go deep enough for a good seal. See my reply to Milairjunkie above for solution.

Another option is to buy a Paasche airhose with 1/8" fitting at the compressor end. But I like the QD idea better.

Yes!  I think that would work.

My local hardware store did not have anything nearly small enough for a quick disconnect like that.  I could try Home Depot, though I am not sure they would have anything that small either.

Anyone know who would carry something that small?

Remove the blue hose from the 1/4>1/8 adapter & fit a 1/8" quick connect tail, like;

to the same 1/4>1/8 adapter, then fit the compressor supplied Q/C to the blue hose & you should have a working hose with a Q/C where you want it. That is of course if I understand correctly?
