I have a rule,

Use  the same brand thinner as the paint brand. This way you never have thinning problems. It is expensive at first, but the thinners should last a while. I clean with lacquer thinner. the commercial grade from the hardware. Make sure you don't get any on the plastic as it will eat it pretty quick. By the way, I don't mix it with my paints either.

Cheers Leo

I totally agree. If one is having problems airbrushing a paint/thinner mismatch is less likely to be the problem.

However, I've been one of those that tried to save a few pennies by using a generic thinner.
