Model Mount for airbrushing???
Posted by David Maddog on Sunday, October 9, 2011 2:31 PM

I have a question, I am looking for techniques on how to paint a model with an airbrush other than just holding it or having it sit and wait for it to dry before I can rotate it.  I usually just spray it sitting on the surface but then can't rotate it to do the other side until it dries...I don't have to get my finger prints all over it.  I'd like to be able to paint all around it at once.  Also, are there any simple paint booth ideas someone might have?

I made this stand out of particle board.

I just drilled a bunch of rows of holes that were slightly larger than the plastic pins and then glued a piece of smooth cardboard to the bottom to allow for easier rotation.

The pins are plastic rod from the hobby shop and I put pieces of surgical tubing on the ends of the plastic rod to provide grip and protection.
