How to clean airbrush with dried on acrylic matt varnish?

I would say celly thinners, although depending on your airbrush (rather it's seal material) soaking might be unwise.

I would put some celly thinners in, flush this through the brush, let it stand for a few minutes, flush the remainder out & then remove the needle & check that there isn't any build up on it around where it travels through the needle seal - if there is a few wipes with thinner should remove it.

Carburetor cleaner from the automotive section is my favorite airbrush cleaner. It will remove ANYTHING. I have an Iwata and a Badger and there have been not adverse effects.

What airbrush do you have? I would not submerge the airbrush as the O ring in the air valve can be damaged from chemicals. I would soak the front half of the airbrush in Super Clean degreaser overnight and go from there.
