Is all Paint the same?

nope, not all paints are the same.

For brush painting, Ive heard that Vallejo is one of the best. I use ModelMaster enamels in those little 4oz jars and have no complaints. Other company's enamels are good for painting too. Some even use oil paints on figures. I would stay away from brush painting Tamiya acrylics though. That brand does not like paintbrushes for some reason. Generally, enamels cover better than acrylics. I find that acrylics are a bit thin for hand brushing...maybe Im just using the wrong brand!

I like the Vallejo Model Color for hand brushing figures,not the Model Air,goes on nice and smooth and a good color range

As with many things, "You pays your money and you takes your choice."  My advice is when you find something that works well for you, stick with it.

I personally have returned to my old favorite from many years ago, Testor's Model Master enamels, after experimenting with various acrylics.  It's predictable and readily available.

Call me odd but I find a challenge to making the paint spray well is good. Keeps you learning and applying what you learned. Enamels are almost too easy sometimes.

no, your not the only one. i hate hand brushing tamiya acrylics also. model master acrylics....im not even going to stay anything. there consistency from bottle to bottle is horrible but they do AB nice. they hand brush like crap also. i have a bottle of MM acrylic in raw umber and it's thicker then MM enamel. 

Vallejo is awesome for hand brushing from what i hear. model air is a lot more thinner so i don't think it will brush real nice. i may be wrong.
