I've sprayed my resin cockpits with Mr. surfacer 1000 straight from the rattle can. no detail lost.

I've used Mr surfacer 1000 and Tamiya white primer ,booth thinned with laquer thinner or acetone.The consistenze just a bit more than milk.......then try yourself the ratio thinning....(in my opinion 2Thinner and 1 primer.......depends also from when you have the primer....is it dried in the bottle......Ciao Enrico.
I haven't put Mr Survacer through an airbrush, but I have done with the Tamiya (more or less) equivalent product. You may need to experiment with your thinning ratio - I don't think 1:1 is going to work very well - Mr Surfacer is quite "heavy" andI I think you would need to thin it considerably more.
I believe you can, but it needs to be thinned properly or you might end up with some strange results & a mess inside your airbrush. Swanny has a very informative page on Mr Surfacer;

never tried it but they do make surface primer for resin.
Mr. Resin
tamiya 1/48 P-47D $25 + shipping
tamiya 1/48 mosquito $20+ shipping
hobby boss 1/48 F-105G. wings and fuselage cut from sprue. $40+ shipping.
Can this prodct be used as primer for resin parts? I have a 1/48 scale resin cockpit and I am worried that the Mr Surface 1200 will fill in some of the detailes. Planning on thinning 1:1 and spray with my air brush.
Thanks!
