What are your likes and dislikes of the Krome so far?

I can't honestly say there is anything I dislike about it, other than that I didn't get one sooner. I have quite a few Badgers and it's quickly become my favorite.

The Krome feels like the Velocity in my hand as far as balance and weight but the trigger is far smoother and much more precise feeling. It has the ability to spray smooth, ultra fine details like the Sotar but with the color cup size of the Velocity, it's like the best aspects of those two models put into one brush.

I think it might be Badgers best model to date.

The Krome is the second Badger I have. It is nights and days better than the Patriot 105 Fine. I have an Iwata HP-CS and a H&S Evolution before the Krome. Badger finally has something competitive to them. All 3 are excellent choice for modeling.

Not a fair comparison there Keilau as the Krome is a micro-tip airbrush and the Patriot uses the standard cone tip.

I got my Badger 175 crescendo dual action a/b for free, is this type of a/b any good? Or is it just a cheapie?

I cannot agree more. From what I have observed, Badger makes 4 different lines of airbrushes.

The 105/155/175 series is the economical line.

The 100/150 series is the classic.

The Renegade series is the affordable high end.

The SOTAR is the expensive artist series.

The fine needle and nozzle set (same "fine" designation, different parts numbers) from each series have different dimension, different shape and different finish. They also work very differently.

I will not call the tip of the Patriot fine needle a "standard cone" though. It has a relatively short taper and large double cone tip when compared to the 100 series fine needle. (I do not use the 100G and got this information from Don Wheeler's web site.)

I wouldn't call a needle a "standard cone" either as the cone is the tip, not the needle!
