ive never had a problem with it, i too only use (usually) the grey primer, black, and white. did a car with the gloss red and clear coat  that turned out pretty good. the primer (after a few days for drying...the primer seems to dry pretty slow in my experience) responds pretty well to sanding too.

Walmart added groceries to their new, improved stores.

Guess I'm gonna copy Shellback and pick up some fries, sour cream, butter , chives, onions, bacon, SPAM, eggs, SPAM, SPAM and English muffins.

Oh, yes.

Primer, too!

Thanks to all for this interesting thread.

asking about places.

came to my senses today. i think i'll knock it off.

had to run through walmart like a kook today.

BUT took a glance at Krylon.

i think i will fallback to painting interior gloss TAN.

sure i have can of colorplace gloss white but

i can use that up on a white car body. well some of it.Smile

The wheat grown here in the Palouse feeds about half the world . Its dry farming here and the average is about 80  bushels per acre . Most of the wheat is shipped from Lewiston , Idaho by barge down the Snake , columbia rivers to the Portland , Oregon and then loaded onto ships to be hauled off world wide .I've seeenthe demand for our wheat go up considerably since the droughts in Russia and Kansas . From $3 a bushel to over $ 11 a bushell ,  around $900 to $1000 an acre . Google , maps  , sattelite , Tekoa , Washington , U.S.A. . That will give you an idea of the local area . Its 95 % cultivated for farming . About 800 to 1000 people in this town . Yes

I dont farm but i've lived here since 1977 so the local sorce of income rubbs off on me . No tractor .Toast

Cadet Chuck

What bothers me about this subject is, why go cheap on paint when you have invested quite a few bucks in a nice model?  Saving a buck or two doesn't make sense to me, when you can get good quality model paints that you know will be successful.  A little goes a long way and can be used for many models to come, and the savings per model is neglible with questionable paint.

If you mean "cheap" in the sense of "shoddy" or "poor quality", I must respectfully disagree.  I use Walmart's primers, and am very happy with them.  I've used the light and dark grays, and the rust-colored primer, each according to what the final subject's colors should be.  They cover well, not too thick--like Rustoleum does, in my experience--and they go much farther than primers made by the model supply manufacturers.  I say they're frugal rather than cheap, that is, your money goes a little farther.

I use them on plastic, metal and resin, too, with no ill effects.

I did have a can get clogged, but I've had that happen with other brands of spray paint, too.

In the end, we each will use what we like and are comfortable with, of course.  As long as you're all happy with your results, then, well chosen!

Best regards,

Brad

Ditto

I did try their Royal Blue #25001 I had left from a house project on a cheapo Testors 1/72 F-4U from Michaels. 3 days later the paint was still tacky.

i looked at home depot paints online.

house brand 'painters choice' or something was

$3.50 so it's equal to walmart krylon.

when you go to store they might have $1-1.50 brands or type.

painting with color place spraying cans is working

out very good.
