Air compressor to air brush adaptor
Posted by CBennett on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 12:27 PM

I have a TC 20 Compressor I also have a Badger 200 air brush..what fitting do i need to get this compressor and Brush to work....the 1/4" fitting is too large.....I think the one that comes out of the TC-20 is probably closer to 1/8" maybe Im not a hose size expert lol..but its smaller than the 1/4" ones ive seen and the Badger hose is probably well hell i have no idea what a badger 200 hose is but i need what ever would fit it...can anyone help with what i need and where to get it?? i can NOT get it anywhere locally that ive seen harbor freight had one but it was 1/4 and looked too big as the hose I brought from the TC-20 could almost fit inside the 1/4 opening...

Im assuming as I find no literature that came with my badger 200 kit that the thin black hose that hooks to it that came in the kit is 5MM?? and the threaded part that comes out of the moisture trap/regulator on the compressor is 1/8" so I need something like this???

And if someone can just verify what size the badger 200 hose/connection is that would be helpful just knowing that as no where in the badger literature and I just looked again does it actually say what size hose or fittings it uses....which is horrible...what if I needed another hose..id not have a clue what to get....

Badger connectors are pretty specific to Badger & are M5 x 0.45 - it's unlikely that you're going to find an adapter anywhere else other than from an airbrush outlet.

If you plan to use the Badger hose, you will need something like this to connect to the TC-20's 1/8" BSP outlet;

Precision German Airbrush sell the above part here, about 1/2 way down the page (part no. 104683);

If you plan to do away with the Badger hose, your easiest option would be to get a 1/8" air hose with a quick connect fitted & get a quick connect tail for the Badger.

The same page at Precision German Airbrush has them, the hose is 123957 & the quick connect tail is 104083.

Yes, that's exactly the same part (104683 from Harder & Steenbeck).

Any recommendation as I will probably not be changing back and forth from airbrushes or anything...I dont really have any need to do so(only have the 1 airbrush and will probably just have that for a while and then if I like it will probably stay in the badger line of brushes and just get a nicer one... so I was just thinking the adaptor and the badger (the black airbrush line that came with the kit) airbrush line run to the adaptor..??

If you only have the one brush & plan to stay with Badger I would go for the adaptor, simple, cheap & get's you airbrushing.

Another solution. Get a Badger AB to Iwata (Grex) hose adapter then go to your local Harbor Freight and buy their braided AB hose ($6.95). It will have 1/8" female fittings on both ends. It will fit your compressor and the Badger adapter on your airbrush. In the future, if you stay with Badger your set; if you buy Paasche, get another adapter, if you buy Iwata, Grex or H&S you won't need an adapter.

The best approach would be to get a generic (Iwata compatible) airhose and quick disconnect plus this Grex AD19 adaptor for Badger. Save the Iwata plug (nipple) for future use.

Even if you have only one airbrush, the quick disconnect idea is good when you want to take the airbrush apart for cleaning now and then.

If you add another airbrush from Iwata, H&S or Grex, you don't need anything else. If you get another Badger, you will need one more adaptor
