ariel I knew I'd seen this plane somewhere before. Part of an amazing collection at the (former) Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Thanks for the feedback, gentlemen. I'll be attempting to replicate the colour scheme on this baby.

If that is it, then the scheme is overall PRU Blue, a RAF color, with an Insignia Red tail and the Black/White "Invasion" stripes. The red tail markings were to differentiate the Mossie from the similar looking Me-410.
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

Er, dont google "Haze Blue" without some sort of reference. I dont think ive seen that many drugs in one day before
Check out our collection of aircraft at The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. Sadly, our Mosquito was destroyed in a fire in the 70's. You can find our vintage fleet @ www.warplane.com.
Yeah, i knew it was like recon or something (target tug kept popping into my head but i knew that was wrong) I was just referring to the colour.
That's the one in Dayton, painted to look like a P.R. Mk. XVI which flew in the USAAF 1944- 1945.
THis would appear to be a D-Day striped Mosquito painted in a reconaissance blue color, close to what was called "haze blue."
Something like this?
No, no, no....
Light Gull Gray over White is my all time favorite for USN birds.
Is this a "what if" build? Did the US Navy ever use Mosquitos? If you are doing a "tri color" scheme, it is Flat Sea Blue upper surfaces, Intermediate Blue side surfaces, and Insignia White lower surfaces. For an overall blue Mossie, Gloss Sea Blue is the stanrd color from late 1944 thru the mid 1950s. Testors Model Master, Humbrol, Gunze, Polly Scale, all make the appropriate colors in their lines.
I'm building the Tamiya 1/48 scale Mosquito as a US Navy variant. Could you suggest the appropriate shade/brand of blue paint? Thank you.
