guidance needed weathering/detailing
Posted by Rhino0999 on Saturday, February 18, 2012 10:21 AM

i apologize for lack of punctuation.  typing on phone and its not capitalizing stuff. recently returned to the hobby and basically need guidance on everything.  particularly  weathering.  i can turn out a nice  shiny tank, however that does me little good unless im setting it coming off the assembly line.  is there  a good source to find this kind of information in one place.  im open to buying a book if someone can recommend a good one.

my current subject is a sherman tank.  i sprayed on a nice lookin olive drab.  i thinned down some od paint, added black to it, and applied to model with  wide brush.  wiped it off with a  damp cloth.

ive got two issues.  one it seems to wipe off most of the wash, even in the recesses.  and secondly when it dried it was lighter than base color and looked like a bad blotchy paint job.

what am i doing wrong.
