Self explanatory; What is the best way to break in a brand new airbrush (hp-cs specifically)Approve [^]
What does one spray thru it first, thinner? Question [?]
I'm gonna use mostly enamlsWink [;)]
Prior to painting, should I spray some thinner thru, or some water the first time I use it?Question [?]

Great choice Doom_Giver! Thats a real nice airbrush, it will serve you well for just about anything you want to paint on a model. With my HP-CS I just sprayed a few drops of the relevant thinner for the paint I was about to use so as to flush out the new airbrush. For acrylics try windex or alcohol, for enamels I just spray some turps. Basically, this is what it says in the instructions and it worked for me. Good luck, you're gonna love it.

Regards....Snowy.

Break-in?
Put some paint in it and get to practicing. That's all the break-in it needs. Wink [;)]

Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. " Charles Spurgeon

That's all the break-in that my HP-CS needed, and the first results were fantastic!

My first paint session with my HP-CS was a dream. Out-performed all my expectations. Since then, nothing has changed, no matter what medium I use, acrylics, enamels, NMF lacquers, you name it, they all come out looking great.

No matter what I spray, though. I always do a final clean/rinse with lacquer thinner. It never fails me.
