Gunze's only Azure Blue comes in their acrylic lacquer range, and is only available in their RAF color set 2. I have the set and have used the Azure blue and it doesn't look near as purple once sprayed on the model. I think I just added a little white for scale effect. But yes, it is a hard color to pin down. Not sure if I've ever seen a good wartime color photo of Azure blue to see which brand is more accurate.

Agreed. One of the things I hate about having to order Gunze online is that I can't eyeball the paint beforehand. Some colors (Olive Drab) are beautiful, others (Azure) are a mess. MM Azure for me all the way...

From the internets, no idea if accurate, but seems like it would be:

Hi folks,
Looking at a future project I'm after some Azure blue, was hoping to use Gunze Aqueous but I cant find it anywhere, not even one of the sets they do. Anyone know a mix using other gunze colours, failing that maybe tamiya acrylic, I know a few other makes do the colour but I was hoping to avoid buying yet another brand .
Cheers,
