Andrea colors and can I find them at my LHS?
Posted by echolmberg on Thursday, February 5, 2004 10:25 PM
Hi everyone!

I recently purchased the Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid figures from Andrea Miniatures. I'd like to try using the Andrea Colors on them. However, I don't recall seeing these at my local hobby shop here in Green Bay, WI. I've never really looked for this brand otherwise. Does anyone know if I can fiind these paints at a place like Michael's or Hobby Lobby or Ben Franklin or can they only be ordered through a place like Squadron? I've also heard that they also go by the name Vallejo paints.

What has been anyone's experience with the Andrea/Vallejo paints? Is there a cross-reference list of a more readily available paint brand (like with Citadel Colors or anyone else??)

Thanks for everyone's help!

Eric

Vallejo is excellent paint. Used by many of the best acrylic figure painters. Aeromaster is also selling rebranded Vallejo paints in their Color Of Eagles Aircraft Colors.

Thanks for the info guys! One question I forgot to ask is, are these paints acrylic? Enamels? Also, Hungfarlow, where did you get your paints? Locally or mail-order? Thanks again!

They are acrylic. I got mine at Brookhurst Hobbies down in Orange County while visiting. I think it is easier to find them mail order than the LHS.
