Primer dry time
Posted by Bones-coa on Sunday, February 8, 2004 6:23 PM
Modelers, about how long should I wait for primer to dry before I can sand it? In this case, the primer was MM Med Grey.

And I know I'm not supposed to use primer with SNJ, but how long should the primer dry before shooting the SNJ?

Thanks.

Dana,
I've only used the SNJ powder, but would reccommend letting the primer dry a minimun of 24 hrs (preferably 48). One rule of thumb I learned from Model Railroader mag several years ago was that if there was still a paint smell present when you sniffed the model, then the paint wasn't cured yet.
