Preshading with H model
Posted by Bones-coa on Sunday, February 8, 2004 8:07 PM
Just wondering if anyone has done any pre shading with a Passche H model. I assume you would want to use a #1 needle. Using enamels, what pressure wouks best?

Thanks.

I don't do much preshading, but I have used my Paasche H for doing similar line work on Camo. I use ModelMaster enamels, the #1 needle and thin the paint a little more than usual, for me about 2-1 paint-thinner. I use a pressure of 10-15 psi, depending on how the paint is flowing. Keep the brush close to the model, for me about 1/4 ", and keep the brush moving in a slow, steady line. I keep a strip of white cardboard taped to my spray booth for testing paint flow before I start on the model. The H ain't the best, but it will do the job.
