Rubber wheel/tire question.
My question is how do you fad rubber tires, rubber tank wheels and rubber tracks? I'm almost finished and I'm stuck on this and can't move until I can get this right.
I'm building a tank that has been setting in the same place for years out in the sun but I'm having trouble "white" sheen from years in the sun on the rubber. I don't ever know if white it the right word for it. It has rubber wheels and rubber pads on the track that I'm trying to get right.
There is a tractor on a farm not far from here and it's been setting out in the same place for years and the rubber tires look just like I'm trying to make. You can tell they are rubber but they have a kind of "light" sheen over the surface of them from all the time in the sun.
I have Valliejo Dark Rubber and Light Rubber if that helps. i have thought about trying to dry brush across the rubber with Light Rubber but it doesn't seem to look right.
Does anybody have any ideas? I have Tamiya paints, MM paints, Vallejo paints and two different air brishes. I ever have Rushall and their dead flat but I'm not sure if it will work. i'm not sure if MM Acryl clear fklat will work since I want light color to fad with.
Thanks for any help.
