Removing old humbrol enamels?
Posted by Scorpiomikey on Sunday, August 5, 2012 6:40 PM

Hey guys, ive heard break fluid works to remove paint, but does it work with humbrol enamels? The paints been well cured (i build the kit when i was around 12 or 13 so 13 or 14 years ago) Is there something better i can use to strip it back to plastic?

Ah, fantastic, cheers stik. I had heard of it before, one of the guys in the berny build spilled some on his sabre and paint wouldnt stick to it after. I might give it a try. Whats the worst that could happen?

And we can get it here, found it for $20NZD

Yes, after you use it you need to clean the plastic of any residue. Especially with acrylics. Testors makes some stuff for that too.
