At the end of a session, after wiping the cup and flushing, I pull the needle and wipe it clean.  If there is a little paint on the front of the head from splash back, I clean it with thinner and an old paint brush. Then I use an interdental brush, like the one at the bottom of this page to swab out the front and rear passages in the bottom of the cup.  I use an eyedropper in the cup to pump thinner through the head.  I put the needle back and spray a little clean thinner.  It only takes a couple minutes.  I rarely remove the head anymore.

I would say that will work between colors. your needle will get paint stuck on it eventually so you will have to do a deep clean sooner or later. Some people (i do) take theres apart after each session for a good clean, other do not. The choice is yours.

CLEANING A BADGER PATRIOT

i use acrylics and i have been using an AZTEK for quite a while. i have played with a BADGER and i want to try mine out finally. i read the cleaning instructions and it says empty the cup, put cleaneer in, spray until clear, wipe out cup, done. is that really it? i strip down my AZTEK all the time and usually have it cleaned in 4 minutes. thanks.
