Lowes has a small 2 gal 100 psi compressor for $49.

Dual gauges, no moisture trap.

Anyone have experience with this?

In most cases, buying a cheap, noisy compressor for airbrushing is false economics. After adding a regulator, moisture trap, it is up to the airbrush compressor price range. Most importantly, the noise takes all the fun out of modeling, making the user reluntant to airbrush.

The cheap compressor can be good for filling tire and air toys. But it is too low powereed for even the smallest stapler or nail gun, not to say any other air tools.

HI,

I don't have the Blue Hawk but do have a very similar spec'd and looking  "Husky" from Home Depot. It works fine for airbrushing IF noise is not a problem. I don't use mine often for airbrushing because of the noise. If moisture is a problem you can add the little Iwata or Harbor Freight moisture trap at the airbrush.
