Neo for Iwata airbrush.

For a few dollars more than the NEO the Badger 105 Is far better, and for a few dollars more than that the Badger Krome is better than the HP-CS, easily. Why buy Chinese garbage when you can buy American made quality.

it's not a knock off. it was a unit made to iwata specs by a chinese company. it's a good brush but the lack of quality control killed it for some. some got good brushes and some got crappy ones.

Call it what you may. The Neo needle is interchangable with other made-in-China airbrush needles, but not with regular Iwata needle. Neo and Iwata needle have different diameter.

Just picked up the Neo for Iwata gravity-feed dual-action Airbrush. For aircraft and tanks, is this a good airbrush for the money? Any comments, reviews? It only cost me $65 Cad as compared to my higher end Badger which was closer to $300 ten years ago. New to modelling after a hiatus of 20 years and as I have experience in airbrush art from years past it made sense to use these skills in modelling. As I just moved and can't find my badger for the life of me I decided on a whim to just buy a ne wairbrush. Did I buy a decent one? lol

The Neo for Iwata is the best "made in China knock-off" out there. But it is a knock-off.

1. It is not compatible with any regular Iwata parts. The needle diameter is different.
2. The needle is interchangable with other Chinese knock-off needle.
3. The nozzle and needle quality is typical knock-off quality.

According to Iwata, they have the airbrush body made in Taiwan and shipped to China for final assembly. It shows because the trigger is pricise without being over tightened. A very smooth action compared to most other knock-offs.

It was $38 US when I got mine at Hobby Lobby. It is ok for beginner who is short on budget, or is not sure whether he wants to stay in modeling to try something out. For serious modelers, it is better off getting a regular Iwata such as the Eclipse HP-CS.
