I also like enamel- am partial to Testors, especially the Model Masters line.  For the steel on  the machine gun I used Testors gunmetal, then dullcoated it when it was dry.  Testors also makes a "rubber" color, which I used.

Sometimes, for "polished" steel, which I interpret as natural steel finish I dry brush Testors "steel" over dark flat grey (Krylon primer).

BTW, just finished the WNW DH-2!  I did a livery with lots of doped linen. I found the MM Sandgelb worked well for linen.

That Humbrol MetalCote polished steel is some neat paint.  It goes on as a dark gray flat finish.  Wait about 30 minutes and it polishes to a beautiful steel color.  Heck, I even did an old funky Enfield magazine with it.  Here's how it turned out:

My wife gave me a WNW AMC DH-2 for Christmas and I'm in the process of ordering some paints for it. (especially paint for the areas that have to be painted prior to assembly).  Of the paints that WNW recommends (Humbrol, Tamiya, and Misterkit), I'll be going with the Humbrol because I prefer enamels.  Run into a couple of problems however.  They call for Humbrol "Steel" 27003 which in the Humbrol catalog is Metalcote #27003 Polished Steel and from what I can find no one (not Squadron, not the Sprue Brothers, not even Humbrol itself) has any in stock.  Any body got any ideas or suggestions on what to replace it with?  And the call out for the Humbrol rubber, matt is Humbrol 66 which is Matt OD.  The Tamiya call out on the instructions is XF69 which is Nato Black.  I'm leaning towards either a Model Master semi gloss black or RLM 66.  Anybody got any ideas or thoughts on that?

Thanks
