Cleaning sawdust off

I also use the airbrush trick, though I also wipe models.  However, in the winter in the north country the absolute humidity reaches ridiculously low levels.  Wiping things off in the winter leaves static that just draws the dust back on :-(  One has to use water or some other substance to prevent that.  The airbrush air does not seem to electrify the model as much as rubbing with a cloth.

The other bad thing about the low humidity is that my tweezers sometimes pick up a charge.  As I approach a small piece of PE, the part flys away as the tweezers get close :-(

Cranked up the psi from the 15-20 I normally keep it but it did the trick.

I know this sounds stupid but..... try inflating a balloon. Then rub it briskly on your head to build up a static charge. Then pass the balloon over the model. The static electricity should draw off the sawdust. you may have to make several passes to get it all but you wont scratch the paint.

 And yes..... I have done this before....... both the sawdust and the balloon!

I clean dust off my models by simply holding them under the shower, or kitchen sink sprayer, and letting them air dry.  Works good for me.

couldn't you make it a 'woody'

blow the dust off with the a/b, & a gentle brushing with one of those big soft fan brushes, as found in the 'Warpaint' aisle for the better halves...
