Tint future

Tamiya do orange, red, yellow tinted paints, I've used these before, and used Tamiya paints to tint future,

These might work better, but it is hard to get little parts evenly covered without dipping or spraying.

What you did wrong was trying to tint Future.  Its really hard to get good consistent results mixing colors into Future.  The best results come when you polish the part, spray some color over it (I've been using the Alclad II clear lacquers lately but Tamiya clears work well too) and then dip that part in Future.

If you do it this way you can spare yourself alot of headache.

Another way to get a transparent or translucent "tint" like that is to use one of those "highlighting" magic markers, if you can find the appropriate color.

Kinda hard to say. I mix food dyes with Future for tinting and don't have that problem. I've learned that you must make the tinted Future quite dark with the food dye in order to get any reasonable tint with a single coat of tinted Future. By quite 'dark' I mean, red for example, will appear almost black in the bottle and yellow will appear a very dark orange color. And, the food dye must be water soluble of course. Could a finger print on one piece have caused the 'spot'? You might have to dip more than once to get the color you want. The little transparent amber 'strobe?' behind the pilot in this pic was dipped twice in a red/lyellow Future mix - I think it's close to the color you want and worked for me. YMMV. HTH
