Is it just me or do Tamiya acrylics smell like some sort of wierd candy?!

john, call me weird, but i open a container of tamiya acrylic paint and take a long, slow sniff. its kinda like when i open the coffee can every morning. smells like you could just eat the stuff with a spoon, but it probably dont taste very good. later,

LOL. This could be another symptom of an unknown modeler's disease. Ha-ha-ha. I, too love the smell of Tamiya acrylics. Hmmmmm. I can smell it now. Ha-ha-ha.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one! The wife slipped me a twenty on Valentines Day so I could get some more and I just brought them home...life is good!

Hmm, you guys are pretty weird, my Tamiya paints smell artificial and sharp like any other paint. I guess they are relatively new...

Now, isopropyl alcohol, on the other hand...that stuff smells nice. Reminds me off...cleansing.

Yeah, it does have some kind of sweet smell after you get pass the alcohol.

Tamiya Extra Thin Cement has a gummy like candy smell too!

Hehehe... I actually had to go and sniff my glue after that last post! Tamiya extra thin cement smells almost like mint... Smile [:)]

I aquired a bottle of Testors liquid cement, the kind with the brush in the cap, about a year ago. When I opened it my head was filled with all the memories of my school-aged years of modeling in the 70's and 80's. Now I got to have it just for that reason.

This is hilarious. I am glad others have noticed this as well. When I opened a bottle of paint for the first time in 30 years recently, it immediately brought me back to those 1960's snow days in New England when I would get to stay home from school and just work on models. Blizzard outside, hours of modeling progress inside.

Tamiya Acrylics do have a nice smell to them. Dinner [dinner]

Now, on the other hand, Testors Acryl paints smell terrible Dead [xx(]

It's good you guys aren't using Aqua Flow acrylic T-shirt paints as nothing smells as good as they do. Big Smile [:D]
