I recently started building model aircraft again after a 20 odd year hiatus. At the moment I'm building a Spitfire, it looks a lot better than anything I've built before but at the final stages it has become a disaster!!!
I went to apply a coat of Tamiya acrylic semi gloss clear over the two shades of Tamiya acrylic paint on the fuselage and wings but the semi gloss coat seemd to dilute the paint underneath making it streak and become blotchy, it's basically ruined it.
I didn't seem to have this problem with a Hurricane I had just built.
I am using paintbrushes as I can't afford a spray kit at the moment.
Any help would be appreciated, my poor beautiful Spitfire I am so proud of and took me weeks to perfect is becoming a tragedy!!
