Semi-gloss black paint
Posted by Don Stauffer on Friday, May 17, 2013 9:28 AM

I know that Testors Model Master "Black Chrome" is a popular paint that many of us use when we need a semi-gloss paint.  I have found a Krylon spray can color- Satin Black- that matches MM Black Chrome very closely. I can spray the parts while on the sprue, and then touch up the attachment points with the Black Chrome with a small brush.  The Krylon can sprays very nicely.

The issues I had with Krylon Satin Black paint that it tends to form orange peel surface if sprayed on too much between coats. Perhaps it's the cool air when spraying outside?

So am I stik.  But, I've never met a Humbrol enamel that I didn't like.  I find it to be great paint for brushing or spraying!
