Did you shoot acryls through it? Personally, I'd soak it in Windex (or ammonia) if it wasn't old, dried paint. The other option is soaking in lacquer thinner, that will remove about anything, even old and dried stuff, but it's stinky. I know when mine clogs up, I use Vallejo's airbrush cleaner, that stuff removes just about any acryl. In the future, you should be able to (assuming you're using acrylics) shoot Windex (or store brand glass cleaner containing ammonia) through the gun right after painting and have it reasonably clean.
I've also purchased a cheap (75 dollar) ultrasonic cleaner online that I toss the entire gun in for an 8 minute run and things are clean as a whistle. Just depends how much you want to spend.
In your case, sounds like the nozzle / needle / outlet spout are choked up.
