I love their Satin and Matt clear coats but have not tried their gloss clear. But those two that I mentioned are my preferred top coats.

Humbrol Clear opinions.

Hi all.

I see there's not much mentioned about Humbrol Clear and was wondering what modelers think of it?

http://www.humbrol.com/shop/new-for-2013/coatings-and-thinners/ac7431-humbrol-clear-125ml-bottle/

I tried Tamiya panel line accent colour over Humbrol Clear over Tamiya XF-52 acrylic on a dust boot for the joy stick of a 1/24 P51, I dabbed up the access with a cotton bud and no problem, let it dry for around 6 hours and following the Tamiya instructions used enamel thinner and bud to clean access, all worked ok apart from one side which went straight back to plastic on the peaks, the rest was fine and I'm thinking that maybe there was a bit on skin oil on those edges or just a contaminant of some sort even after being washed with soap and water, I should mention I never use acrylics but thought enamel wash over acrylic paint even though I assume the clear eliminates that need.

In short I guess what I'm asking is what people have used with Humbrol Clear with success or is there a much better product, the Future floor polish which is "Pledge one go" here in Australia seems to be popular but apparently gone of the shelves a year or two ago.  I would of used Humbrol wash but it's not available locally, perhaps patients (my Achilles heal)  and wait for some to arrive from England.

Thanks for any advice or forum links I may have missed.

Cheers from Mick.

Some stuff that might be interesting.
