The surface I am painting is flat. I guess I'll have to put more coats on to get a smooth finish. Thank you!

I saw some video on clearing with Future and  a used dryer sheet is used to polish it. It seems to make a very good shine come out.

Well, that depends on what's underneath. If the paint you're covering is smooth and thin, you don't need so much. But if you airbrush something really flat, then you really need a lot of future to even it out. Hope it helps, good luck with your project

I haven't tried to airbrush Future, but usually one brush coat is enough.  Even if it doesn't look very shiny, it should be glossy enough for decals.

How many airbrushed coats of Future does it take to get a smooth decal surface? I applied it with an airbrush too thin and wound up brushing it on. After two brushed-on coats the surface still isn't what I consider shiny.
