Testers out of business?
Posted by falconmod on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 5:16 PM

Ok,  I work part time at our LHS here in the states and we had a guy come in and tell us that testers was either sold or going out of business or both.  He said it was on their corporate web site.  I see no truth to that.  Anyone know anything about it? I think it's bull!  And no I'm not starting rumors.  He seemed really convinced.

I don't see anything on their website that would indicate that. See Testors Corp site

I don't see anything nor read any news articles regarding that runour. Must be the paint and glue odors makin' him high and delirious. LOL!

They announced some consolidation moves earlier in the year, which included closing one plant and the elimination of jobs. But I haven't seen anything beyond that.

Maybe he was confusing the phase out of Floquil enamels with Testors

Yes indeed. Testors assimilated and eliminated their stateside competition- Floquil/Polly S/Polly Scale, and Pactra. Now they are expanding their various Testor lines and coming out with new colors if you check their website. Not the sign of a business going under.

stikpusher is correct. I actually stumbled upon this by accident on the Microscale website just a few weeks ago:
