REF:  US military figures

Do charts exist that show the different paint "colors" to use for uniforms, etc and including the different time frames (WWII, Korea, Viet Nam, etc)????

Really looking for a site or some sort of reference chart that tells you what color, say MM name/color, to use for uniforms, say WWII???????

It's on that site. At least some of the stuff is listed in MM colors under the Guide to Painting.

http://www.usarmymodels.com/guidetopainting.html

For the Olive Green cotton stuff such as the M1943 uniforms I like SAC Bomber Green in the MM line,or from Humbrol I use Light Olive or Army Green. For the wool trousers, I like Field Drab from MM. For the wool shirts worn with the wool trousers Humbrol Khaki or Khaki Drab is a good choice. For the Tanker winter uniforms, M1941 Field Jacket, or Paratooper M1942 unforms some good choices are: from MM, SAC Bomber Tan, or IDF Khaki; from Humbrol Middle Stone (not the new Mid Stone) or Dark Stone work. MM Olive Drab 319 or faded Olive Drab work good for the HBT fatigue uniforms.

In 1/72 those colors recommended there may look ok, but in 1/35 I know the Humbrol call outs sound way too light or bright. The MM call outs are better.
