Needle to nozzle
Posted by jtrub728 on Saturday, November 9, 2013 9:45 AM

When inserting a needle into an airbrush (I have a Badger 200NH, by the way) how far should the needle be inserted into the nozzle cone?  Until it is barely visible or until it makes full contact with the nozzle or somewhere in between?  Any help is welcome.

Thanks,

To install the needle in a 200NH, do this.

With the needle out:

Tighten the needle adjuster all the way.  It's the knurled part in front of the needle chuck.

Tighten the head and spray regulator all the way.

Now slide the needle all the way in until it makes full contact with the nozzle.  Don't push too hard and make sure the trigger is fully in place.

Tighten the needle chuck and you're done.

Doing it this way makes sure you can't over-tighten the adjuster and damage the nozzle, and you will have full range of adjustment.

Details and pictures in my review.

Thanks Don, I'll give it a try.
