Montex Paint mask opinions and question on resuse
Posted by Josy11 on Saturday, November 16, 2013 12:42 PM

HI All

I am thinking about trying a paint mask for my next project and was wondering if anyone who has used Montex masks, and in particular, if they can be reused, or they are a one shot deal. Several of my WWII German models have no swastika because of where the model originates and I thought this would be a good solution, as well as I would like to see if painting other major insignias might be better than decals

Any opinions welcome and thanks in advance

If you handle them carefully they can be re-used to a point. The key is to slowly pull them off the model so they dont' stretch out.

Hello. I find the Montex masks are EXCELLENT. I used a set for the Revell 1/32 HE 111. It contained ALL the markings as stencils including the swastikas, balkenkreuz and INNER and outer masks for the canopy panes. I have used and reused them. As stated earlier, be careful not to stretch them when taking them off.

Is this for airbrushing, rattle-can, or brush painting?
