What are the steps performed to achieve a thin and narrow line pattern?

Thin paint to the consistency of 2% skim milk, set your regulator on your compressor to about 10-15 psi, push down the trigger of the airbrush and pull it back slowly till paint just starts to flow out good. You can experiment with paint viscosities to see what works best for you.
