i bought a testors compressor 50 psi, hooked up a regulator, but when i use the air brush the rpessure drops off, is this a sign that its not poweerful enough?

Probably not. Did you buy the Blue mini or the AC100 (other Testors have a regulator)? You need to adjust the regulator to the pressure you want for spraying while pressing the AB trigger - normally about 15-25 PSI. Depending on which compressor you bought, it may run continuously while you spray but should maintain the set pressure, Nozzle size of the AB will have an effect though.

well i have the mini blue, and i tried to adjust it while held trigger down it still dropped off, to aobut nothing. i just was not sure if compressor was strong enough.

Maybe you have a leak.  I had a similar problem with an Iwata compressor. Wrapping the fitting on the compressor with Teflon tape before putting on the hose adapter fitting solved the problem.

What psi are you getting?  The mini blue is rated 20 psi under load.  So I guess you can get 15-20 psi.
