I bought a bottle of this a few months back, only to find that I could not thin it with alcohol as I do with their acrylics. Yesterday I did a test, thinning the primer with hardware store lacquer thinner, and thinning with mineral spirits. I airbrushed both onto the front of an old CD case, which is very smooth; I think smoother than most styrene. Today, after curing a little less than 24 hours, I put blue painters tape and Tamiya tape over the primer, and burnished the tape down well. I gave both tapes a good strong pull off, and neither pulled any primer with them.
The lacquer thinned primer was noticeably rougher than the part thinned with mineral spirits.
I hope to airbrush some acrylic over this test area today or tomorrow as part of my experiment.
You can't thin it with Iso, but you can with denatured alcohol (unless they have changed the formula). I very much doubt that it would mix easily with mineral spirits though.
Tamiya primers are excellent. I wish they made a black primer.

Phil_HI very much doubt that it would mix easily with mineral spirits though.
