sufficient compressor LPM (litre per minute)
Posted by Matt12 on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 11:12 AM

Hello mates

i am using a Sparmax AC-100 (tankless) compressor and thats the only comp i have used so far. its LPM is 16 and i dont have any ideas how much does it affect the results if i switch to anything with more lpm. i guess I dont have any specific problems right now ,  just want to know if it improves the paint job quality and minimizes clogging and stuff or not.

simply i should say: any significant changes on the results or just a bit more breeze?

thanks

Matt

Unfortunately I don't think it will help your modeling skills any! It will allow you to airbrush at higher pressures though.

16LPM should be fine for modelling as long as you stay with fine to medium nozzles - as a rule of thumb anything in excess of 0.5CFM (14LPM) should be adequate for most modelling situations.
