Tamiya Acrylic cleanup
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, February 26, 2004 7:56 PM
I've been trying to decide between acrylics and enamels for spraying and reading the forums. Whether you clean with windex or alcohol or soap and water, is it okay to just wash the cleanup mess from acrylics down the kitchen sink? Thanks for any info.

Depends on how "green" you are! I live in Berkeley CA so the prevailing attitude is along the lines of anything you dump down the drain is bad! however thats just not possible. my inquiries at paint stores in the area indicate that acrylic paints for the most part are not harmfull. the raw color pigment and carrier are non toxic. just to be good though you should dilute paint in water then dump it down - whatever you do with acrylics will be infinitly better than oils!!!
